Weekend at Grandparents: Part 3

Me with my boy. And Raleigh with a cooler that he thought was a toy. It had a handle just like his push toy at home.

He climbed up on top of it all by himself.

And he teetered on the edge a bit. Notice Josh's hand ready to stabilize.

Weekend at Grandparents: Part 2

Saturday, Deb and Steve treated us all to some yummy Chinese food, and then while Steve, Josh and Raleigh looked for a jack for Josh's bass guitar, Deb and I visited JoAnn's Fabrics. I found some magazines that sparked my interest in refurbishing furniture.

After our lunchtime outing, we had "Clancy's" pizza, which was delicious, and then we hung out at home and watched a Resident Evil movie.

Raleigh had fun chasing the cat.

He also had fun with the toys at Grandma's house.

Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson

We had such a fun time this past weekend. On Friday, we drove to Josh's aunt Soni's for dinner. We ate slow roasted pork, a delicious salad with pears in it, au gratin potatoes, asparagus, terriaki chicken, mushrooms baked is some delicious sauce, homemade strawberry pie, coconut lemon poppyseed cake, and icecream cake. It was a like a holiday meal without the holiday. 005

Raleigh enjoyed trying to catch Soni's yorki Willow. She liked hiding under the dining room table.

 008

Raleigh really enjoyed the stairs at Grandma and Grandpa Thompson's. He climbed up and down those stairs so many times, I can't even imagine counting.

He got really good at coming down the stairs too. I'll post a video of that later.

I took so many pictures and video, I'm going to write this blog in different parts. Check back later for some more pictures and stories about our weekend.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Josh made me dinner tonight, and then he went outside to snowblow. We did get about 7 inches of snow yesterday.

028

Raleigh watched as Josh cleared off the front walk to the house. Our mailperson will be happy tomorrow.

We're leaving to visit my in-laws tomorrow afternoon. We're super excited to have dinner at Josh's aunt Soni's house tomorrow night. She's an excellent cook.

I had the oddest dream last night. My friend Sweet Mary Sunshine and I were in a tree. And she was as pregnant as she is in real life (due one week from today).  In my dream, we were trying to reach a deer hunter's stand way up in a big tree. I mean this tree was huge. We were almost there when the branch we were standing on suddenly broke. We found ourselves falling, hitting planked boards on the way down that somewhat softened our fall. We both fell to the forest floor, and we were fine. No injuries...nothing. We were chatting about the fall, when she went into labor.  We got to the hospital ok, but none of her family was there, so I actually was in the room with her. At the last second, her aunt showed up (not sure which aunt, not sure I've ever met her aunt, but she was there in the dream) so I left the room. A very short while later. She gracefully gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who was healthy and happy.  From what I heard in the dream, her labor was easy and everyone was fine.  I hope her real life delivery is just like that except with her husband there and without the falling out of the tree before hand :)

On another note, go see Mrs. Radwag's adorable pictures of her 6 month old baby boy, Benjamin. My favorite is the picture of him reading a book.

Productive Night

Tonight, instead of sitting on my bum searching for and reading crafty blogs written by strangers...I was crafty myself!

Back when I was pregnant with Raleigh, I began planning and putting together a t-shirt quilt. Over the years, I had amassed a huge amount of sports and academic related t-shirts from high school and college. Instead of donating them or throwing them away or cutting them into rags, I decided to make a quilt out of them.

So, in the fall of 2006 - with Chelsea's help - I pieced together almost all of the parts of the quilt.  I had everything done but the last bit of outside edging.

Tonight, I finished that. In the picture below, it's the thick black edge.

012

Now, I need to piece together the back piece and then take it to a quilter to have it quilted.

And for you who only care about Raleigh... :) ... Here are some pics of him. He can now climb onto the couch with ease.

And here's a picture of Raleigh wearing his babylegs.  They are thigh high leggings without feet.

I'm in love with...

... the Windows Home Server!  And Josh, of course!

The server arrived on Wednesday, and I've been playing around with it since then. I've installed some cool add-ins and everything.

So before you get mad at me and stop reading because this isn't a Pictures-of-Raleigh-filled post, I'll tell you what this means for you, my family and friends.

If you are a close member of our family, you possibly can get set up with a user name and password so that you can save some of your precious computer files onto our server. It's an archaic way of backing up files that are important to you.

If you are everybody else, you can view the photo album Web site that I've created for the public. Right now, I have some digital pages of Raleigh's first scrapbook in there.

Check them out!

If you have a user name and password to upload files onto our server, go to Http://FargoThompson.homeserver.com

If you want a user name and password, I'm sure that I've already spoken to you about it.

We only can allow 10 users to save files onto our server, and we only have 500 GB of storage right now.

And now...some pictures

             Blanket 007

Raleigh holding his bear and a block that Chelsea made him. He looks so tall in this photo.

             Blanket 017

Raleigh can reach onto the table to get his milk.

              Blanket 028

I caught Raleigh carrying around a blanket that Chelsea made for him. He kept putting his face against the soft part.

              Blanket 033

Later on, he ended up lying on the floor with that same blanket.

              Blanket 036

Raleigh's uncle Corey came to visit on Sunday, and Raleigh got to wear his hat.

              Heavy Lifting 005

Tonight after our trip to Target, Raleigh was having a fun time playing with our new bottle of detergent.

       Heavy Lifting 009

He was getting really frustrated that he couldn't lift up the bottle. He just kept trying until he finally found a way to pick it up. He picked it up all by himself.  The look on his face is frustration because he couldn't lift it higher.

Raleigh's Uh-Ohs

Here's a video showing Raleigh eating his breakfast yesterday morning. There are also a few clips of him wearing Jenna's sunglasses. Enjoy!
