Two words...fried fish

My big bro Dave cooked some Wonderfully Wicked Walleye last night(I like alliteration too, Erika).

Check out the pictures.

As, I'm sure you can assume, we're visiting my parents this weekend. My Grandpa Harry is also visiting. We haven't seen him since our wedding. And this is the first time that Raleigh's met him.

This is also the first time that Raleigh and Sam have been together since they've been walkers. We got some good pictures that I'll share in a later post.

Handmade Aprons

About a week ago, Chelsea and I got together to make aprons.

I had signed up for a class at the quilt shop that Chelsea works at. We were going to make aprons but it turned out that I was the only person signed up for the class, so Chelsea and I got together at her place to make the apron anyway.

Mmmm....Corn on the cob!

Raleigh enjoyed his first piece of corn on the cob the other night. Those little handles are awesome, he was able to hold them so well.

Last weekend: Part 3

Raleigh has been enjoying a storage ottoman that we recently purchased. He opens it up and either places his toys in it, or he places himself in it.

My dad showed Raleigh how to climb onto the stair stepper.  I forgot to mention that to Josh, and the other day, Josh exclaimed "I found Raleigh standing on the stair stepper...He got up there all by himself!"

And I guess Raleigh found his way on top of the kitchen table today. Looks like we have quite the climber on our hands.

Here's a pic of Grandma holding Raleigh and Dad making faces at him.

Last weekend: Part 2

My parents got Raleigh a fun new toy where he gets to try to fit shapes into holes. He's not quite able to do it yet, but he loves pulling the lid off to get at the shapes that we've already put in it.

Raleigh is actively and easily climbing onto the couch now. He loved getting up there with Copper, my parents' dog.

He also loved climbing up there when my Mom and Copper were trying to take a nap.

Last weekend: Part 1

Last weekend, my parents visited. We had a blast. Friday night, we listened to music and chatted. We got our political conversation out of the way early so that we had the rest of the weekend to talk about non-political stuff. I made chicken lasagna on Friday night. My dad didn't like it because there wasn't any red meat in it. He immediately went for the salt and pepper.

Saturday, I made scrambled eggs with red peppers and provolone cheese, as well as some hamsteak. My dad mostly ate the ham. We're definitely not "Meat and Potatoes" enough for my dad.

We did make up for it by ordering Buffalo Wild Wings junk food for Saturday night though.

026

Raleigh enjoyed a Barbequed rib, while we pigged out on boneless and regular chicken wings, popcorn shrimp, fried mushrooms, and fried potato wedges and chips. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it now.

Weekend at Grandparents: Part 4

Yes, I still have pictures to share from last weekend, and yes, I'm antsy to post pictures and video that I've taken from this weekend. My parents are currently visiting. We just finished a fabulous game of Mexican Dominoes.

Here are some pictures from when Raleigh was playing in Grandma Deb's Kitchen.

He had so much fun taking all of her pots and pans out of her cupboard.

Lunar Eclipse

The pictures below are my attempts at taking a picture of the lunar eclipse tonight. Notice, I didn't use my tripod. Yes, I know it's a necessity when taking photos of the night sky, however...I couldn't find mine. The only room in the house I didn't look in was Raleigh's room because he was sleeping.

The squiggly areas of brightness forming a triangle with the moon are Saturn and the bright star Regulus ( I didn't realize that Harry Potter's godfather's brother was named after a star).
