Back up and running

The new hard drive arrived today and, while I was at work, Josh reinstalled Windows 7. When I got home, I installed all of the other applications that I need, including Windows Live Writer, which is what I use write and publish my blogger blog entries.

The picture above is to prove that I can dress Leah up nice and pretty like a little girl. The head band was a gift from my Aunt Pam, and the outfit was a gift from my coworker Leslie.

The outfit is a 12 month outfit and it pretty much fits her already. Sigh…My little girl is almost 1.

Hard drive down :(

We may be a little slow in posting for the next few days. Our computer's hard drive crashed on Saturday, so we are sans computer for at least a week.

And don't worry, we didn't lose any data thanks to our handy Windows Home Server that backs up our computer for us.

We'll post as soon as we can :)

My expressive little boy

Yesterday, when I came home from work, one of the first things Raleigh said to me was “Mommy, I put my shirt on all myself.” And of course it was on backwards so I had to take pictures. I asked Raleigh to show me his back…

and his frong….

And then he got camera shy and said, “No, I don’t want a picture.”

And then I tackled him to the ground and tickled him to make him smile and then he still covered his face.

Purple knit outfit by Grandma Deb

Last night we dressed up to go see my BIL playing in his new Jazz band trio at Dunn Bros. Coffee. Yes, you read that correctly, we dressed up to go to a coffee shop. We don’t get out much.

We put Leah in this hand knit sweater dress and booties that her  Grandma Deb made for her. And before we left, we took some snapshots of Josh with the kids and Leah with me. (Raleigh didn’t want to sit for another picture)

Raking leaves

Our neighbors have leaf blowers/vacuums to get their leaves off their grass. We have one rambunctious little kid who likes to jump in the pile and throw leaves out of the pile, and run through the pile.  It’s amazing how quick he was able to destroy a pile that we raked up.  But he had so much fun.

Leah got to watch from her stroller. Not sure why her arms are so tucked in this picture.

A few days ago we attempted to take some more Raleigh/Leah pictures. These are the best I got.

Handyman in training

Scene:

Raleigh’s in his bedroom pounding the floor with a toy.

Josh - “Raleigh, that’s not the right way to fix that. It’s out of batteries.”

Raleigh -“I want some batteries.”

Josh - “We don’t have any.”

Raleigh - “I want a screwdriver.”

Josh - “What kind of screwdriver do you want?”

Raleigh - “Um…a green one”

One smart cookie!

She knows where the food that she drops while she’s eating in her high chair goes and the minute that I let her down from her chair, she goes hunting for it.

Chilly park visit

Last week, we headed to a near by park and we dressed up for the cold weather.

IMG_2032

Well, everyone except Josh dressed up for the cold weather. He said he was warm enough when I suggested he put a jacket on.

Leah got to swing with both Mom and Dad.

She rode, all bundled up, in her stroller on the way there and back.

Raleigh actually jumped from the ledge that he’s standing at in the picture below. It was a good 7 feet up. He just landed on his feet and said something like, “Oh, I’m ok, I’m ok”.

IMG_2046

One thing that I think will never get old for Raleigh is trying to go up the slide the wrong way.
