Sushi for Mama
I took my mama out for sushi last weekend when she was here. Here are some pictures of the event.
Mom using chopsticks eating the ginger dressing salad. That's the miso soup next to the salad bowl.
Mom taking her first bite of Sushi.
This is the Hibachi scallops that we also ordered

The roll with the orange on top is called the Spider Roll, and the other roll is called a Crunch Roll.
Side Note: The Sushi that we ate was fully cooked. Sushimi is the raw fish variety...we didn't eat any of that.

Have you heard of Ear Candling?
A coworker mentioned it last week and I mentioned it to my mom and Josh, who thought it was a great idea.

It definitely was an interesting experience.
So mom and I went to the local whole foods/hippie store to get some ear candles.
Here's a link to more information.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear_candling
First, we tried it in the house....then we realized how big the flame got on the candle..

And we quickly moved our project outside.

It definitely was an interesting experience.

R.I.P. Winnie

Such a hard decision to make...So painful to talk about...
I took Winnie in to be euthanized this morning. Last week, unprovoked, she growled and snapped at Raleigh's face...right in front of me...didn't phase Raleigh, but scared the heck out of me.
I can't have a dog in my house who is a threat to my child. Nor can I give her away to be a threat to another child.
Josh and I had sensed some dominance issues with Winnie in the past, but this was the final straw. We're lucky that she didn't make contact with Raleigh.
We are very sad today. We were lucky to have Winnie for such a brief amount of time.

Fall is here!
OK, it may not feel like fall is here, but today when I took Winnie out to go potty, I saw my breath in the cool morning air!
I absolutely love the fall season. It is by far my favorite season. When the air starts to cool, there aren't as many stenches that invade my nostrils. Colder air either supresses things from smelling, or it hinders my olefactory glands from working correctly. I love the smell of cold.
I can't wait to bring Raleigh outside to play in the grass and leaves while Josh and try to rake up remnants of our trees foliage. I am already anticipating some fabulous pictures.
SIDENOTE:
I got to hold two beautiful newborn baby boys last night :) Tee hee....
