Weekend with Grandma Wanda

We had a lovely weekend with my mother. We bribed her into driving all of the way here by saying she could take the third and final piece of the sectional sofa home with her when she left.

Of course, we wanted to use her truck to bring home our new chair and sleeper sofa. :)

We grilled out on Saturday night, which was extra fun because we had Mom's sectional piece out on the deck for some comfy sitting.

If only the wind wasn't blowing so darn hard.

p.s. I still haven't taken pictures of the new furniture, but I'll do that in the next few days.

Yay! the weekend is here!

I'm not sure it felt like that for the rest of you, but last week felt like it went on forever.

I took yesterday off of work and went furniture shopping. Josh and I had previously decided on a sofa and chair from one of the furniture retailers here in town, so I went to see if it was on sale yet. The sofa was marked down 15 %. And on top of that it was marked down 10 % because it was the floor model that they were selling.

Well, the floor model sofa wasn't the size that I wanted, and they had a brand new one in the size that I wanted, however it was in Coon Rapids.

Originally, the sofa and chair were priced at over $1500.00, after the sale, they were marked at $1297.00. Remember that is for the floor models that the salesman and I were sitting on while we chatted prices.

Well, the haggler that I am, I was able to purchase the brand new sofa that was the size I wanted, that has a warranty, and the floor model chair for $1000.

I love furniture shopping.  :) I will post pictures of the new couch and chair later today. Also, my mom should be arriving here around 10 am today.

1st Popcicle

He actually didn't get to consume much of the popcicle. I wonder if that had anything to do with his mom taking bites every few seconds. :)

Aren't they pretty?

Almost a week ago now, Chelsea and I got together to sew. The result is two pretty purses. Chelsea's is on the left, mine on the right.

We are, hopefully, going to set up set night every other week to get together to sew. I always enjoy getting out of the house, and doing something productive. Plus, I love hanging with Chelsea and she has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to sewing. I'm learning so much!

Next thing you know, I'll need to buy myself a $1000 sewing machine. :)

It still fits

Any woman who has just watched the movie "27 Dresses" and still has their wedding dress hanging in their closet knows what I'm talking about.

Yay for me.

Web cams all around

Lately, my mother and I have been Instant Messaging every night using the our web cam. Usually we just show me and Raleigh, but now my Mom has a web cam.

I love coming home to Raleigh and Josh playing in the back yard.  I love it even more when it's a complete surprise to see what Raleigh is wearing.

Josh was completely unaware that he matched until I mentioned it. And more pictures of our adventure outside.

Josh's recumbent bike #1

Ok, now imagine a child's bicycle turned upside down and backwards with no back wheel, but a big regular sized front wheel. All attached to this bike runner that Raleigh is playing with in the pictures below.  That is Josh's first (homemade) recumbent bicycle. Sadly, I didn't actually get a picture of it (oops).

And I won't have the opportunity to since we purchased a professionally made recumbent stationary bicycle that will arrive on our doorstep tomorrow or Tuesday.  I will post a picture of that when we have it. We happened across a store that had just lost its lease, and it was having a mega sale. So, we purchased this exercise machine for half the price that it would normally be. Yay for us!

Outside fun

Yesterday, the weather was nice enough for Raleigh to play outside. I love it when I drive up and walk on to my deck where Raleigh is there to greet me.
