We attempted to camp
Ok, so we drove 45 minutes away to our favorite state park last night after I got home from work. Josh has been excited for this weekend all week because of the camping.
Josh packed the food, tent, sleeping bags, and other important camping stuff.
I came home from work, and I packed Raleigh's clothes and my clothes.
The drive out was great, we talked and listened to music, and Raleigh was mostly behaved in the back seat.
We registered for the campsite that we reserved. When we got to the site, we began unpacking. Guess what we forgot? The tent poles. It's pretty hard to put up a tent when there are no tent poles.
So, went for a hike, and made a fire, and then we stopped at a local ice cream shop to treat our sorrows away. And then we drove home.
Below are some quik snaps of Raleigh playing on our new chair. You can see part of the matching sofa next to it.

Playing in the pool
Last Sunday it was nice enough out for us to fill up Raleigh's pool. You can see by the pictures below that Raleigh had a whole lot of fun.
Above: Raleigh testing his skills as a fireman.
Below: Just hamming it up for the camera.
Below: Attempting to drink lemonade from my empty lemonade can.

Trip to Yunker Farm
We visited Yunker Farm yesterday. It's an educational farm for young kids. We ended up buying a year membership.
Raleigh simulated milking a cow.
He was able to listen to the ocean in a seashell.
He attempted to place Mongolia back where it belongs; between Russia and China.
He also saw himself in a very large mirror.

Finally another video
We're having some storage issues on our computer, so ever time we want to upload more videos from our video camera, we have to find other stuff to remove on our computer.

Camping at Glendalough
Josh, Chelsea, Jamie and I went camping last weekend at Glendalough State Park. The wind almost convinced us that a canoe-in campsite wasn't a good idea. We had to bike our supplies into our campsite because the wind was so horrid, I'm sure we would've tipped.
Speaking of tipping, in the picture below, you can't tell...but...Josh and Jamie are soaking wet.
They managed to tip over the canoe and get all of their fishing supplies as well as themselves wet. And it is not swimming weather right now, so the lake was freezing.
Above: Josh and Jamie drying out their fishing box contents.
Below: Chelsea and I in the canoe. We remained dry.
Above: Josh, Jamie and Chelsea walking ahead on one of the hiking trails. It looks all beautiful in the picture, but if you were up close and removing 10 wood ticks at a time from your pant legs, you might think otherwise.
Above: Photogenic Jamie and Chelsea
Below: Me and Josh. I know, I never wear a hat. I think I look odd.
All in all, we had a fabulous weekend. We didn't have to worry about Raleigh because Grandma Deb was taking care of him. We did have to worry about Wood Ticks though. And we had to worry a little bit about rain.
We're planning our next camping trip for June some time. Not sure where yet though.

Sewing pyramids and a cube
Last week on Tuesday, Chelsea and I got together to sew again. Here are the results.
The pyramids are meant to be filled with rice or popcorn and used as a door stop.
Next week, we're moving on to larger projects. We'll both be working on Quilts next week. I can't wait!

We're off to go Camping!
Have a happy memorial weekend everyone! Be sure to visit your loved one's who have served out country with their lives.
I'll come back with some great pictures of our camping trip. In the mean time, enjoy the pictures below.
Here's our future tennis champion!
And here's our future mechanic.
P.S. I see his ribs in the picture above too, I swear, we do feed him, he's just an active little fellow.

I've tagged myself :)
The rules:
“The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.”
1. What was I doing ten years ago?
Ten years ago I was still in High School. I was probably just finishing up my softball season, and preparing for attending a 5 week summer camp.
The camp was called Summer Explorations in Science Engineering and Mathematics (SESEM). We had a 3 hour calculus class every morning, and we had field trips on the weekend, and homework in the afternoon. Doesn't that sound like fun?
2. What are 5 things on my to-do list for today (not in any particular order):
- Go to Target and purchase disposable diapers for when Grandma Deb watches Raleigh this weekend.
- prepare breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners for Raleigh while we're gone. We're trying to make this weekend as easy as possible for Grandma Deb. Raleigh is at a very active stage right now, and he can be a handful.
- Find and wash all of my camping clothes.
- Pick up Erika and Joel's bike rack from Robin and Ryan tonight
- Prepack the car to be sure that everything fits.
3. Snacks I enjoy:
Yummy, yummy dark dark chocolate. The more dark the better. I also enjoy chips and salsa.
4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Josh and I have talked about this before. We'd like to become mega philanthropists and travel the globe. We'd most likely hire a tutor for Raleigh and take him with us.
5. Places I have lived:
Not sure what constitutes "lived"... but I lived in Minnesota for 22 years, and I've now lived in North Dakota for 6 years. I visited Germany for about a month once. Does that count as "lived"?
6. People I want to know more about:
I’m passing this on to: Northstar26, Erika, Chelsea, Robin, Lanae, and Sweet Mary Sunshine

Taking the time to smell the flowers
I taught Raleigh how to gently smell flowers yesterday. We practiced on tulips and dandelions.
I can't remember the last day that I took so many good pictures in a row.
