Floor time

Enjoy some pictures of the kiddos playing on the floor.

Gee? I wonder who put that on her head?

IMG_0200

What are brothers for anyway?

Leah met the Cobber mascot in it’s dancing electronic stuffed animaly form the other day.

The Hulk had no idea what was in store for him…

IMG_0242

Normally, I would not post a picture of Leah like the one below…where her eyes are red from crying and her head looks bigger than her torso…but LOOK! She’s sitting up on her own!

IMG_0180

I had to sit her that way and take the picture before she fell over, of course. She did stay sitting for about 30 seconds though.

Such lovely blue waters…

I miss it already. Here are some pictures from last weekend in my hometown. We stayed extra late on Sunday so that we could enjoy some time at Tioga Pit.

Raleigh and Leah both had a blast playing in the water.

And we got this fabulous picture of all the cousins together.

And, yes…The water really is that clear and blue.

Pics from the week of July 4th

Sorry for the delay in posting. I've been pretty busy lately with work and the kids and traveling etc.

Here are some pictures that I hadn't posted yet from our trip to my hometown. We were at my favorite place, Tioga Pit.

Happiness

We’re pretty happy here in this household. We can’t complain about much and we like it that way. Leah is sleeping better through the night now that her second bottom tooth is out. IMG_9963

She is also showing a little bit more pizzazz in photos.

IMG_9965

Of course it helps when her papa is making goofy faces at her.

IMG_9962 She’s in full giggle in the picture below.

IMG_9974

Raleigh’s been a big help lately too. Josh had him help feed Leah her bottle yesterday.

IMG_0094

Here is a great pic of one of the Peonies from my front yard.

IMG_9448

And here is an even better photo of my adorable son sniffing it.

IMG_9459

I’ll be sad on the day when I say to Raleigh, “Ooh, look at the pretty flower, go smell it.” and he turns to me and says, “Mom… it’s just a flower.”

He is so curious and so inquisitive right now, I hope nothing ever stifles that.

Teeth as promised

I was finally able to get pictures of Leah’s teeth.

Here, you can see the bottom teeth poke’n out.

IMG_9953

And, here you can see the top teeth attempting to come out. Her gums are a bit swollen, which is why she’s been getting up every hour for the past two nights.

Little girl and fish

This is how she is lately…with her fingers in her mouth. You’d be that way too if your bottom teeth just popped through your gums in the last week and a half and now your top teeth are pushing to come out too.

IMG_9942

Despite the teething, she’s a pretty happy baby. Which makes me happy.

IMG_9931

She can almost sit up on her own, but not quite.

IMG_9945

And not at all related to my daughter are these lovely fish in this lovely bucket.

IMG_9921

My Brother, Dad, and Hubby caught these fish last week and we got to bring them home.

Not too long after we brought them home, they ended up like this…

IMG_9924

And then like this…

IMG_9923

And finally like this…

IMG_9922

You don’t want to see what they looked like after this :)

Tioga Beach

Sorry that I’m finally getting around to posting some beach pictures from this past week. It seems they are worth the wait though, right?

Leah and I in the sand.

Leah and Grandma Wanda. Notice the fist full of Grandma’s hair.

Meadow fun

Last fall, my Grandpa Harry and Grandma Jan moved to about 1 hour away from my parents’ house from Oregon. I’m ashamed to say that today was the first time that I’ve made it out to visit them at their new house. We’ve seen them a few times at family gatherings at my parents’ house but we hadn’t actually made it out to visit them until today.

They live in such a fabulous area of Minnesota that Josh called it a “perfect little sanctuary”. There are meadows of daisies behind their house! Raleigh had a blast running through them.

Leah was in true form, grabbing everything in sight.

IMG_9771

We had a great trip and Raleigh and Leah did great. Raleigh was his typical self, pushing the limits when he saw fit, but overall, he behaved himself.

First taste of solid food

The other day, Josh and I gave Leah her first taste of solid food. I tried to ignore her signs that she was ready for some solid food because I wasn’t ready for her to not need me as much as she does now. I know…that is silly to think that, but I enjoy providing everything she needs right now and she’ll be our last baby, so this will be my last time nursing a baby. At least I still have 6 months until I’m completely done nursing her. Raleigh was 1 year old when I stopped nursing him. We’ll do the same for Leah.

She didn’t like the rice cereal. Well, she didn’t hate it, but she didn’t seem to like it either.

IMG_9516 IMG_9523

Don’t let this smile fool you, it wasn’t her saying how much she liked the rice cereal, it was her saying how much she liked that we stopped feeding her the rice cereal.

IMG_9531IMG_9535

We’re still at my parents’ house and the weather is not really cooperating. It’s windier than Fargo here right now. Not really lake weather.
