Blogging from Vista

Not sure if any of you are aware of all the cool new things that the Windows Live brand has to offer, but you should really check it out.

www.live.com

I am using Windows Live Writer to write this blog entry. It has a much friendlier interface than Blogger has, and I don't have to start up Internet Explorer and sign in to my blog to write this post. I can set it so that my computer remembers my Blogger log in information, and whenever I start up Windows Live Writer it'll remember me.

I don't have any new pictures to show right now, but I'll post an old picture of me during my glory days :)

Toga Baby!

The other day, when I was working from home, Josh and Raleigh went into Raleigh's room for a diaper change, and Raleigh walked out of the room looking as he is in this first picture. Then Josh altered the outfit again later, prompting me to take another picture.

In other news, Josh and I are now running Windows Vista! Weeee, wooopeee, Yay! It's about time.

Little man in a big art gallery

My company put together a family holiday event at a local art museum last night. Josh, Raleigh, and I attended. We had delicious food, and witnessed fabulous works of art. This was Raleigh's first trip to an art gallery. He really liked the echo of his own voice. He kept saying "Daoh" over and over again. "Daoh" happens to be his word for "Ball" right now.

Raleigh tonight

Raleigh was carrying around his drum tonight. He really likes this thing. Which is good considering that Joel and Josh have him destined to be a drummer.

I was playing "I'm gonna get you," and Raleigh decided to hide in his storage unit in his room. He just happend to be carrying the "W" book that belongs to the whole set of alphabet books that Chelsea and Jamie gave him as a birthday present.

The Hat that Grandma Deb Made

Is it OK for kids to jump on the couch?

I came across a blog tonight that was hosting a survey. Here was the survey.

Are your children allowed to jump on the couch / sofa?
  • Yes, couches are made for living in, not for show
  • Yes on certain couches, not on others
  • No, although some unauthorised jumping does occur
  • No, kids should have respect for furniture

I answered the survey with the first option. But when I submitted my answer, I saw that the majority of people responding to the survey marked the 3rd option.

So I asked Josh if we're going to allow our children to jump on the couches. He responded with a stearn "Absolutely not, why would we let them do that."

I have to admit, I was suprised by his answer and by his logic that followed. Now, thanks to a survey on a blog, we now know that when the time comes, we will not allow our children to jump on the couches.

Recap of Date Night

Before Josh and I went on our date on Thursday night, I went to support Chelsea at the opening night of her art exhibit at Nichol's Fine Pastries. Chelsea posted pictures on her blog. I'm smitten with the little hanging birdies. The picture doesn't do them justice, but the colors are just great, and would go great in my living room.

While I was there, I bought a delicious cocoa truffle for a buck. I love chocolate, but I love truffles maybe even more than chocolate.

For our date, Josh and I went to see "Beowulf", the movie. I'm extremely embarrassed to admit that I have never actually read "Beowulf", even though it's been on my list of books to read for some years now. After seeing the movie, which was completely made using CGI (Computer Generated Images), I have moved the book up to # 1 on my list of books to read. It was such a fantastic story. I can only hope that the reputation of the book is true and that it is actually better than the movie.

If you want to see my complete list of books to read, click here. So far, I've only read 5 on the list.

Anyway, it was a good night, and Joel was successful at babysitting Raleigh; He was asleep in his crib when we got home.

Our Little elf

Here are some pictures of Raleigh in his adorable new outfit, that makes him kind of look like a little elf. Josh and I are just on our way out. We're having a Date Night. Joel will be watching Raleigh tonight. It'll be his first time babysitting Raleigh.

Raleigh talks a bit now. He says "uh oh" when he or anyone else drops something. He says "owie" when he pulls my hair. He can make the sign language sign for Poop and Milk. He can wave bye-bye. And both of his grandmothers think he can say my name, "yellow", "shoe" and other things too. Josh and I have yet to witness these words. I'd post some video of it, but our computer that we use to edit videos is caput. So we're in the process of ordering new computer parts.

The picture below is hilarious, it's like Raleigh is leary about someone. Maybe it's me and my camera. I can imagine his thoughts. "What's up with that camera, is she a spy or something? Why does my entire life need to be documented..."

More Sledding Pictures

Raleigh wasn't quite sure what to think of the snow, or the sled. The sled didn't have much support so if I pulled too hard, he'd fall backwards.

Fun in the Snow

We just got our first load of snow on Saturday. I'm sure we got about a foot of snow between Saturday morning and Saturday evening. We're supposed to get even more snow tomorrow morning, yikes!
